As the behavioral health partner to the BeHealthy Partnership, the
Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership (MBHP) manages the mental
health and substance use disorder services for Members of the
BeHealthy Partnership plan. Working collaboratively with BeHealthy
Partnership, Members, their families, advocates, providers, and other
stakeholders, MBHP has created a community-based system of care that
integrates mental health and primary care for Members.
MBHP and the BeHealthy Partnership are committed to ensuring that Members receive
clinically appropriate, high quality, accessible behavioral health care. To
achieve this goal, MBHP has stressed the involvement of Members and their
families to ensure that BeHealthy Partnership programs meet their behavioral health
needs.

MBHP/BeHealthy Partnership Provider Manual is considered part of the Provider
Agreement. The two items together outline the requirements for
participation in the MBHP/BeHealthy Partnership network. The manual contains
background information about MBHP/BeHealthy Partnership clinical goals and important
information and guidelines about referrals, service authorizations, and

BeHealthy Partnership Medical Necessity Criteria
MBHP/BeHealthy Partnership medical necessity criteria guide providers in
determining the appropriate level of care for BeHealthy Partnership Members.
The criteria are designed to support the Member's stabilization and
promote recovery from the symptoms of mental illness and substance use

Children's Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI)
The
Children's Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) was created to implement
the remedy in a class action law suit filed on behalf of
MassHealth-enrolled children under age of 21 with serious emotional
disturbance (SED). more>
Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC)/Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI)
CBHCs will serve as an entry point for timely, high-quality mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment on an urgent and ongoing basis.
CBHCs will integrate crisis and community-based treatment by combining mobile teams, crisis stabilization, and care coordination. A distinct feature will be
7-day-per-week access including walk-in capacity, psycho-pharmacology, and treatment options including services and interventions for mental health, substance
use disorders, and co-occurring disorders. more >

BeHealthy Partnership Care Management
BeHealthy Partnership's care management system aims to expand access to services
and promote the integration of behavioral and primary care for Members
with mental illness and/or substance use disorder problems. The
flexible system targets the individual needs of Members and provides
them with one point of contact into the health care system. more>
