New Apps for Integration
Two SAMHSA-sponsored apps are aiding providers with screening for alcohol, drugs, and tobacco use and with integrating suicide prevention strategies into their practice. The SBIRT App for Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment for substance use provides detailed steps to complete an SBIRT intervention. Suicide Safe: The Suicide Prevention App for Health Care Providers is a free app based on SAMHSA's Suicide Assessment Five-Step Evaluation and Triage (SAFE-T) card.
